Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) is in the final stretch of its life. As of 15th of June 2022, Microsoft will stop supporting the browser. So what does this mean? Microsoft will redirect users from the IE11 desktop application to Microsoft Edge and ultimately disabled via a future Windows Update. The web browser will also no longer be supported by Microsoft from that date, and businesses and IT departments are being urged to migrate their environments, systems and websites over to Microsoft Edge or another browser (Chrome, Firefox or Safari) to avoid security vulnerabilities.
What does that mean for PPO users?
In order to access PPO, any standard web browser can be used, including Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari. It is recommended that the latest or at least a fairly recent version of the browser be used for the best experience.
As an unsupported application, effective 15 June 2022, PPO will no longer develop new code to ensure compatibility with IE11. This means that all existing IE11 users will continue to have access to PPO however, future product enhancements may be impacted if users continue to use IE11.
Have you checked your default browser setting?
The retirement of IE11 will automatically change your browser default setting to Microsoft Edge if your default had been set to IE11. If you’re a Windows user and would like to check or change your default browser setting, read this FAQ.
To continue to experience all the best PPO features, we encourage all existing IE11 users to switch to an alternative browser. Having trouble making the switch, reach out to the PPO Support Ninjas, they’re ready to help!
